Who are you going to trust?
You are right to be wary. Sometimes it seems that everybody else is out for themselves, whatever happened to good, old-fashioned decency?
You want someone who is knowledgeable and skilled, but you need also need them to work in your best interest, not their own.
We suggest that you only deal with businesses that are part of the Trading Standards "Buy with Confidence" initiative.
Trading Standards "Buy With Confidence"
For the consumer it increases protection by providing an approved trader list.
How it works
Member companies have been independently checked by staff from Trading Standards for compliance with the letter and the spirit of the law.
Only if a business passes stringent checks can they display the Buy With Confidence logo.

We firmly believe in the usefulness of the initiative. It is a mark of quality that differentiates its members from those who are not honest or competent. We recommend that any decent business apply for membership.
